Chief of Staff Reporting Transitions

Jun 29, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

Please join me in congratulating Chief of Staff Nate Bryant, EdD, in his appointment as interim president of North Shore Community College, which has been approved by Massachusetts Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Carlos E. Santiago. Nate will be taking a one-year leave of absence from Salem State effective July 5, 2020.

In addition to his role as chief of staff, Nate oversees the areas of enrollment management, marketing and communications, civic engagement, external affairs, and athletics. I am writing to inform you of temporary organizational changes to ensure the continuity of these responsibilities during this time.

I am not appointing an interim chief of staff and several of the people below will be sharing those duties.

Bonnie Galinski has been appointed interim vice president of enrollment management and marketing and will report directly to me. Also reporting directly to me will be Lynne Montague, special assistant to the president, and Adria Duijvesteijn, senior director of external affairs. In addition, Carla Panzella, associate vice president and dean of students, will report directly to me for athletics only.

Corey Cronin, assistant vice president of marketing and communications, will report to Bonnie Galinski with a dotted line to me. Maria Machado, staff associate, will also report to Bonnie Galinski.

Cynthia Lynch, executive director of the Center for Civic Engagement will report to Emerson (Tad) Baker, vice provost.

Thank you to all for your flexibility and support as we work to make these temporary transitions as smooth as possible.

John D. Keenan

President
