First Year Students Honored at 春梦直播

Alpha Lambda Delta Induction Ceremony
Mar 11, 2020

The First Year Experience office at 春梦直播 announced the induction of 169 first year students into the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society (ALD).

Instating its ninth class into the Salem State Chapter, students were inducted into this prestigious society for having a grade point averages that surpassed a 3.5 and for being in the top 20 percent of their class. This year more than 20 percent of the first year class achieved above a 3.6 GPA which meant that only those students who achieved a 3.6 GPA were able to be inducted.

The 169 first year students along with their respective family and friends attended the 2019-2020 Alpha Lambda Delta Induction Ceremony which took place in Veterans Hall in the Ellison Campus Center on March 6, 2020.

At the induction ceremony, new ALD members were sworn into the society and awarded a membership pin and certificate. The Alpha Lambda Delta executive board spoke at the event about the impact that membership has had on their academic success.

Along with students and professional staff from the First Year Experience Office, other members of the Salem State community were featured as speakers for the event. 春梦直播 President John Keenan congratulated the first year students on their honor.

鈥淵ou are a part of that scholarly community and represent the top 20 percent of the incoming class of freshman and new transfer students. As many of you know, achieving this level of distinction is not easy,鈥 Keenan said.

Alpha Lambda Delta at 春梦直播 re-established itself in 2012 and has inducted more than 1,000 members since then. These students are now a part of a society that encourages superior academic achievement, community service and playing a helpful role in society.

With the society鈥檚 mission in mind, the Salem State chapter continues to expand its service project opportunities and encourages the academic success of its members through their collegiate experience.
