Greece is celebrating 70 years of educational and cultural exchanges between the United States and Greece and is one of six Fulbright Scholars featured in their new spotlight series. Duclos-Orsello spent the spring semester in Thessaloninki, Greece teaching at Aristotle University, engaging in public humanities projects and developing collaborations between and among civic, NGO, higher ed and K-12 partners.
While there she and her teenage son also volunteered in two of the refugee camps serving the tens of thousands of refugees stranded in Greece in 2016. This video-portrait captures her vision of the radical potential of education (both in and outside of formal settings), public humanities, intercultural and global transformation, and social justice.
