Nate Bryant to Retire from ´ºÃÎÖ±²¥ After 36 Years of Service

Bryant will be celebrated on Saturday, June 8 as part of the university’s alumni weekend festivities

WHAT:     Salem resident and Vice President of Student Success Nate Bryant, EdD, ’87, ‘93G will retire at the end of June after 36 years of service at the university—and over four decades in total?. Bryant has held several important roles, including vice president and chief of staff; assistant dean of the Center for Academic Excellence; and assistant dean of students for student life; along with his experience as the director of admissions, in financial aid and multicultural affairs, and of course, as a student.

Bryant was also a strong presence on the Salem School Committee for several years, in addition to other community posts. He currently is a trustee of Mass General Brigham/Salem Hospital, serves on the board of directors of Northeast Arc, and is a corporator of Marblehead Bank. However, it is his development of regional partnerships with community-based organizations and community colleges, including serving as interim president of North Shore Community College, that helped the university build regional partnerships that are central to our long-term success.

Bryant has ties to the university that extend beyond just employment. He was a Viking undergrad when he met his wife, Joy ’85, and earned a bachelor’s in business administration. He then received a master’s in education two years later. All told, that’s 42 years at Salem State. He also earned his doctorate in higher education from the University of Massachusetts – Boston.

WHEN:   Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 4 - 6 pm

WHERE:  North Campus Dining Common, First Floor, 352 Lafayette Street (located behind the Sophia Gordon Center for the Performing Arts. Please note that this is a ticketed event.
