Media and Communication Student Awards 2020-2021

The Salem State media and communication department announces the winners of the 2020-2021 MCO student awards.

 

The Rising Star Award presented to Ava Ford

This award recognizes first-year students majoring in media and communication who show the most promise in excelling academically and professionally in the major and beyond.

 

The Civic Engagement and Social Justice Award presented to Harriett Gaye

This award recognizes an MCO student’s commitment to contributing to the positive welfare of others both on and off-campus through activism, volunteerism, philanthropy, or other types of community-engaged work.

 

The Academic Award presented to Nicole Coates

This award recognizes an MCO senior who has demonstrated academic excellence in the major through GPA, intellectual contributions in coursework or induction into the honors society.

 

Chair’s Award

For their role in bringing back the Salem State Log as an online publication, Marina Abate, Madison Borden, Sean Byrne, and Elizabeth Weeks received the Chair’s Award for exceptional contributions to the department.
