The ֱ Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors recently appointed Dunstable resident Nancy A. Dias ’09, ’13G as its newest member. A ֱ double Viking and volunteer, Dias brings significant professional expertise and institutional insight to the board of directors.
“I’m proud to be a Salem State alumna, as I wouldn’t be where I am today without my higher education degrees from such an exceptional institution,” Dias said. “The foundation’s strategic priorities to accomplish its mission of engaging with the community, inspiring philanthropy and stewarding resources to invest in student success align with my personal values.”
A certified public accountant, Dias works as assistant treasurer and officer for Geode Capital Management Trust Company, LLC, a global asset manager headquartered in Boston. There, she oversees more than $50 billion in assets under management and annually recommends changes to the company’s business and capital plan for the board’s approval.
The ֱ Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that raises and manages charitable gifts in support of the university through active fundraising and advocacy. Its 21-member board of directors includes alumni and community leaders who steward contributed private funds. Dias’ 17 years of professional experience will add value to the foundation’s investment committee, which assists the board of directors in overseeing the foundation’s investment portfolio.
“We are honored to have Nancy’s expertise on the Salem State Foundation board, serving on its investment committee because she represents the very best of our community,” said Cheryl Crounse, executive director of the ֱ Foundation. “Nancy put herself through college by working in the banking industry. As a student, she was a campus leader who consistently made the Dean’s List and various honor societies, reflecting her academic achievements. We are grateful that as an alumna, she’s chosen to give back to Salem State—and now, this new appointment offers Nancy and the foundation an opportunity to partner together to further the mission of the foundation and deepen the financial investment in all students on campus.”
