The School of Education is working to assist with the Syrian refugee crisis by collecting and shipping soft structure baby carriers (SSC) so parents can keep their young children safe on a long and perilous journey. According to , the closer a baby is to their mother or father, the more chance they have of survival.
There are several ways that you can help:
1) Drop off clean, gently-used or new soft structured carriers at the School of Education collection box (outside 304SB). These include any carrier that has clasps or harnesses, and Mei Teis (square cloth with four ties). Preferred brands include Baby Bjorn, Kolcraft, MobyGo, Mei Teis, Tulla and Ergo, but all brands of SSCs are accepted. (Wraps, slings, and other forms of unstructured carriers cannot be shipped).
2) Help defray our shipping costs by donating pre-paid shipping packages from the USPS.
