Welcome to Academic Advising. Our office is committed to providing students with guidance and support as they explore the academic opportunities available to them and understanding their degree requirements to reach graduation. We are full-time professional advisors who are available to students all year round!
Do you need Fall 2025 Registration Help?
The professional advisors are available to assist students with the following:
- resolve advising holds and register for classes (summer and/or fall classes)
- change of major requests and degree mapping 
- assist with paperwork for third permission requests 
- assist with general academic problem solving 
- review advising holds (probation holds may require an appointment)
No sign up is required for these sessions - students will be able to access the Zoom link below (only at the specific times listed).

Overview of Services
Students benefit from a mentor/mentee relationship by meeting regularly with the professional advisors to check in on their progress and goals and discuss any other concerns related to their academics, and connect them to countless resources throughout their journey at Salem State!
Meeting regularly with a professional advisor, students:
- plan and understand their academic program programs
- ensure they are meeting degree requirements
- guide students through major exploration
- explore options before making personal and academic decisions
- identify various resources at Salem State
- provide holistic support to students who are experiencing academic difficulties
- discuss their long-term educational goals
