Do not delay in getting cleared for move-in as it may impact your ability to move in on your assigned day. Students planning to pay with a personal paper or electronic check are subject to a 7-day waiting period for your payment to clear. This means you cannot be cleared for move-in on your assigned day if this is how you plan to pay.

Residence life is thrilled to welcome over 1,000 resident students to campus each year!
Fall move-in will take place August 31-September 1. Please check your Salem State email for your exact move-in date and time.
Move-In Policy
In order to move in for fall semester, all students must satisfy three key requirements.
- in full OR
- Be on an approved AND/OR
- Have to cover your balance
You can confirm your total aid and account balance in Navigator.
In addition, you must:
- Complete all aid-related items on the to-do list in your "Tasks" tile within your Navigator account.
2. Complete your immunization requirements with counseling and health services
. You can upload documents using the health portal located in Navigator, or mail/ fax to the office. Make sure the documentation has been received by checking the . (CHS) with questions at 978.542.6410.
IMPORTANT: These must be submitted two weeks prior to the CHS office to ensure they're processed ahead of your move-in date.

A matriculated undergraduate student must be enrolled in 12 or more credits. A matriculated graduate student must be enrolled in 6 or more credits, based on program requirements.
If you need undergraduate advising help, please visit Academic Advising for hours and availability to speak with a professional advisor. Graduate students should contact their Graduate Program Coordinator.
IMPORTANT: To determine if you are registered as a full-time student you will need to add your credits together from your class schedule
Exceptions: Exceptions are granted on a very limited basis and could include for students graduating in the fall semester which may be less than 12 credits, but will require permission from residence life.
Housing Cancellations and Refunds
Students who are unable to satisfy the requirements of the move-in policy will not be allowed to move into the residence halls and will not have access to the meal plan. Students should submit a housing cancellation request through their housing portal with residence life as soon as possible to have the housing and meal plans charges adjusted on their student account.
